Hangover Smoothie Cure for the Morning After

We’ve all been there-had a little too much fun and a little too much to drink the night before leaving you with a massive hangover the next morning.  Say buh-bye to your hangover with this delicious kiwi smoothie!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups boiled water
  • 3 tbsp. feverfew flowers
  • 3 peeled kiwi fruits
  • 3 tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

  • In a bowl, pour the boiling water over the feverfew flowers; let steep for 8-10 minutes
  • Place this mixture, along with the remaining ingredients in a blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Drink up!

Soothing Honey Cucumber Cleansing Milk

Treat your skin to this soothing and calming cleansing milk!

Ingredients:

  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1 small cucumber (peeled and seeded)
  • 1 tbsp. whole milk

Directions:

  • Boil a cup of water and add the tea bag; leave the tea bag in the water to steep and cool
  • Peel, seed and mash the cucumber; strain out the pulp with a fork to retain the juice
  • Combine and stir the honey and cucumber juice
  • Add the milk to the honey and juice; stir well
  • Apply to skin with a cotton pad or soft tissue
  • Use the cooled chamomile tea water to gently wipe off the cleansing mixture

D.I.Y. Kiwi Facial Cleansing Cream

Cleanse skin of impurities with this summery kiwi facial cleansing cream!

Ingredients:

  • 1 peeled kiwi
  • 2 tbsp. plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1  tsp. finely ground almonds

 

Directions:

  • Puree the kiwi in a blender or food processor
  • Add the remaining ingredients; blend until a thick creamy paste forms
  • Apply to face and gently massage into skin
  • Rinse with warm water

Apple, Pear and Mint Facial Cleanser

A make-at-home moisturizing facial cleanser that is suitable for dry to normal skin types!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 5 slices pear
  • 5 slices apple
  • 5 slices cucumber
  • 1 tsp. dried mint
  • Few drops of honey

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender; blend until mixture is smooth
  • Apply to face and neck; gently massage mixture into skin
  • Rinse with water

*Can be refrigerated in and used daily for up to a week

Cleanse and smooth skin with this yummy and healthy facial cleanser!

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. yogurt (plain only)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tbsp. applesauce

 

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients; blend well (you can blend by hand or by using a blender)
  • Apply to a clean face (avoid the eye area)
  • Gently massage into skin
  • Rinse with warm water

Tighten skin with this delicious tightening face mask with lemon and strawberry!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 roughly chopped strawberries
  • 3 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

 

Directions:

  • Mash strawberries to a pulp using a fork or food processor
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients; mix well
  • (If mixture is too runny add more starch to thicken it up)
  • Smooth mixture onto clean skin
  • Let sit for 20 minutes or until dry
  • Rinse with water
  • Apply your favorite mositurizer

Carrot and Avocado Face Mask Recipe for Dry Skin

Treat dry skin with this nourishing carrot and avocado face mask that is filled with antioxidants (a strong anti-aging agent) and potassium rich carrots (which have anti-inflammatory agents and combat dryness) leaving skin revitalized, toned and moisturized.

Ingredients:

  • 1 carrot (peeled and de-stemmed)
  • 1/2 avocado (very ripe)
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 egg yolk

 

Directions:

  • Steam or boil the carrot until tender
  • Mash the carrot with a fork or blender until creamy
  • Mash the avocado into the mashed carrot
  • Add the remaining ingredients; mix well
  • Apply to clean face
  • Let sit for 15 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water
  • Apply your favorite moisturizer
