Carol’s Daughter Olive Oil Infusion At-Home Treatment

ddd

After loving the Carol’s Daughter Monoi Hair Mask, I decided to give another one of their hair treatments a try.  This product is a little more work but well worth the results!  For $25.00, this set lasts awhile and delivers excellent results!

As we know from my other posts, my hair is often left feeling dry and damaged from it being color treated, straightened, curled, etc.  So, I like to treat it to treatments from time to time to bring it back to life.

You can use the products together for a mega moisturizing treatment or use them individually depending on how much moisture your hair needs.  I decided to go all out and applied the olive oil and the hair smoothie then slipped the cap over my hair and let it sit for 30 minutes.

When I washed the product out I would describe the results as AMAZING!  My hair has never felt softer!  I could comb through my hair with my fingers in the shower without hitting any knots.  Brushing my hair out after showering was a joy too because I had no tangling which made brushing it out incredibly easy and hassle free.

I let my hair air dry to see the results.  My hair was left soft and shiny and tangle free.  It looked incredibly healthy and as if there was never any damage to it.

Depending on the length of your hair and the amount of product you use/how you use it you can easily get 3-4 uses from this set.  (I have hair midway down my back and can usually get 3-4 uses but I don’t go overboard with the amount of product I use either).

If you have color treated, dry or damaged hair I highly suggest this product!

Pro’s:

  • Conditions hair
  • Leaves hair soft and shiny
  • Leaves hair looking super healthy
  • Detangles
  • On average, 3-4 uses per set

Con’s:

  • None :)

Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask

cccI am always all about finding really good products that condition my hair and leave it feeling and looking soft, smooth and healthy.  I was hesitant about purchasing this product only because of the price tag.  $29.00 for a tub of it that is 7 oz.  I figured it would be well worth it if it actually worked and would have been bummed if I spent $29.00 on a product that didn’t work.  So I decided to give it a try anyways.

When I first opened this tub, I was greeted by a very pleasant scent (this is always important for me when it comes to shampoos and conditioners).  The consistency was thick, as are most conditioning hair masks.  I applied it to my hair while I was showering and left it sit on there while I shaved so that it had a decent amount of time to absorb into my hair.

I can normally always tell if a conditioner works well for me when I rinse it out.  If my hair is left feeling smooth and not tangled while rinsing it out, I know I’ve found a winner!  Luckily for me, this product did just that when I rinsed it out!  My hair was left feeling silky smooth while it was still wet and didn’t feel like a tangled up mess.

Combing through my hair after I got out of the shower was also a breeze.  It did an excellent job at detangling my normally tangled hair (it always tangles in the shower)!  Any conditioner or conditioning treatment that  can detangle my hair is a winner in my book!  (And don’t ask me how I manage to tangle it either, it can be silky smooth before I get in the shower and by the time I am done washing it I have a real rat’s nest on my hands.)

I let my hair air dry (as I normally do) without adding other product to it to see the results.  I was quite pleased!  My hair looked and felt soft and silky smooth.  This is definitely a great product for damaged hair.  (Mine is color treated and always encounters the heat from either my straightener or curling iron).

Pros:

  • Moisturizing and conditioning
  • Softens hair
  • Leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and healthy
  • Great for damaged/dry hair
  • Smells delicious

Cons:

  • A little on the pricey side

Sephora Collection Daily Brush Cleaner

12345

I think a lot of people often forget how important it is to wash your makeup brushes.  I know in the past, I never realized the importance of washing them and I should have.  My face is extremely fussy and is prone to breakouts (unfortunately) and I know that once I started washing my makeup brushes on a regular basis it really made a difference in reducing the amount of breakouts I got.

I normally stick to this makeup brush shampoo.  It comes in a nice pump bottle.  This stuff generally lasts a decent length of time too, depending on how often you wash your brushes.  I like to wash mine weekly (on a minimum) because I use them daily and in that time they gather a lot of makeup and grime.

I was amazed the first time I used this (and honestly, I still am every time I use it) at how much makeup comes off my makeup brushes.  I can always tell when my makeup brushes need a cleaning but I never realize how much makeup and buildup is really on them.  And after seeing how much makeup and grime washes off, I understand why not washing them can cause breakouts!

This always leaves my brushes fresh, clean and soft after each wash and is a must have!

Pros:

  • Cleans makeup, residue, oils, buildup, etc. from makeup brushes
  • Helps to prevent breakouts
  • Cleans all makeup types off of brushes

Cons

  • Can’t really think of any :)
