DIY Almond and Mandarin Facial Scrub

Gently exfoliate and nourish skin with this easy to make at home facial scrub!

What you need:

  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 4 tsp. almond meal
  • 1 – 1 1/2 tsp. mandarin juice

What you do:

  • In a bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well
  • Apply mixture to face and gently massage into skin for a few minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly with water and pat skin dry

Soothing Lettuce Cleanser

Lettuce Cleanser

Treat irritated skin to a soothing and gentle lettuce cleanser!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head lettuce
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp. benzoin

 

Directions:

  • Place the water in a saucepan and add the lettuce
  • Bring the water to a boil; once boiling reduce heat to a simmer
  • Let simmer for 1 hour
  • Remove from heat and let cool
  • Once cool, carefully strain the mixture and add the benzoin; mix well
  • Transfer the mixture to a container for storage
  • Apply to skin and use as you would a cleanser
  • Rinse with water

Gentle Herbal Facial Cleanser

Herbal Cleanser

Gently cleanse skin with this herbal facial cleanser!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup dried chamomile
  • 1/3 cup dried rose petals
  • 2/3 oat flour
  • water

 

Directions:

  • Combine dried chamomile and rose petals and grind until fine
  • Combine oat flour with grinded mix; mix well
  • Add a tablespoon of water to the mixture at a time; stirring after each tablespoon is added until a creamy paste forms
  • Place the mixture in a saucepan over low heat for 5 minutes (this will create a creamier consistency)
  • Remove from heat and let mixture cool
  • Once cooled, apply the mixture to skin (avoid the eye area)
  • Gently massage into skin
  • Rinse with warm water

Thyme and Fennel Gentle Facial Cleanser

Thyme and Fennel Cleanser
Cleanse skin with this gentle and effective facial cleanser!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 tbsp. dried thyme
  • 2 tsp. crushed fennel seeds
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
Directions:
  • Combine the thyme and fennel seeds and place in boiling water
  • Add lemon juice to the mixture and let steep for 15 minutes
  • Strain the mixture
  • Apply to face using a soft tissue or cotton ball
  • Rinse with water
*If stored in an airtight container, this mixture can last up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Pineapple and Melon Deep Cleansing Facial Mask

Pineapple and Melon Facial Cleanser

Pamper skin with this deliciously sweet pineapple and melon facial cleansing mask!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup pineapple
  • 1/4 cup melon (not watermelon)
  • 3 oz. water
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch (to thicken)

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender; blend until a paste forms
  • (if too runny, add more cornstarch)
  • Apply to a clean face and gently massage into skin
  • Let sit 10-15 minutes
  • Rinse with water

Peachy Facial Cleansing Cream

Peach Facial Cleanser

Nourish and brighten dry skin with this peachy facial cleansing cream!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 ripe peach (peeled and pitted)
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla jojoba oil
  • 3 drops chamomile essential oil

Directions:

  • Place the peach in a blender or food processor and puree
  • Remove the pureed peach into a bowl and all the remaining ingredients except for the essential oil; mix well
  • Add the essential oil to the mixture; mix well
  • Apply to face and gently massage into skin
  • Rinse with water

Chamomile Cleansing Milk (dry and sensitive)

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. chamomile flowers (fresh or dried)

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients into a double boiler; heat for 30 minutes (or just before it starts to boil)
  • Remove from heat; let sit for 2 hours
  • Strain the mixture to remove flower pieces
  • Transfer mixture into a bottle or container for storage

*When kept in the fridge, this mixture can last up to 2 weeks

Ingredients:

  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1 small cucumber (peeled and seeded)
  • 1 tbsp. whole milk

Directions:

  • Boil a cup of water and add the tea bag; leave the tea bag in the water to steep and cool
  • Peel, seed and mash the cucumber; strain out the pulp with a fork to retain the juice
  • Combine and stir the honey and cucumber juice
  • Add the milk to the honey and juice; stir well
  • Apply to skin with a cotton pad or soft tissue
  • Use the cooled chamomile tea water to gently wipe off the cleansing mixture
